Roberta Jean Grimme died Sunday July 14, 2013, she was a life long resident of Sharpsville. She was born December 10, 1926, the daughter of Howard and Lulu (Smith) DeWitt. She married Eugene Robert Grimme on October 14, 1945, he preceded her in death.

Roberta graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1945 and also Huffer Beauty College. She operated a beauty shop in her home for several years and she also worked at the Red Carpet Restaurant. She was an avid Tri-Central fan and attended many haves and was a ticket taker for years. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene in Kokomo and was a Sharpsville Lioness. She was a great cook and delighted in making cinnamon candy for friends and relatives. She was also an expert seamstress and gained the name "The Basket Lady". She loved spending time at her lake cottage in Silver Lake and most of all she loved spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by he sons, Ricky Gene Grimme and wife Donna, Benny Dean Grimme and wife Elaine all of Sharpsville. Grandchildren, Kara and Ed Popelas, Chad and Jamie Hook, Joseph and Shannon Grimme, Shawn and Julie Smith and Bradon and Elizabeth DeFoe, also great grandchildren, Madison and Brayden Hook, AJ Smith, Jacoby and Olivia Defoe and Wesley Ryker Grimme.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Jane Smith, a brother Garnet Ford DeWitt, two nieces, Vicky Lynne Hamilton and MaryLou King and a nephew Jerry DeWitt.

Visitation will be from noon to 2:00pm Wednesday at Boyer Funeral Home in Sharpsville, graveside services will take place at 3:00pm at Sharpsville Cemetery with Rev. David Leeder officiating.
